When to convert WebP to PNG

PNG remains the safest lossless format when a WebP file needs to work somewhere WebP itself might not be recognized — older image editors, certain print pipelines, legacy CMS uploaders, and software that predates WebP's mainstream adoption. If your source WebP was encoded losslessly, this conversion preserves every pixel exactly, since both are lossless formats and no data is discarded.
